The beautiful Plumbago auriculata is the felicity of having a true friend with every corresponding quality in the garden. So named to mean "with ears," due to the shape of its leaves, it is a listener, holding on to our quiet chats or celebrative outdoor conversations, whether with others or with ourselves when we forget we are not alone and it is a respectful curator of our secrets. Being an evergreen, it is also an ever present, loyal resident once invited to the garden and as all forever friends will do, it is a climber, doing so even in between other flowers just to reach and bloom to our delight. Its lovely display arrives in the warmest part of the year with cool and reflective blue and white perfection so that we will choose to stay outside, close by and in near company as those friends who love us most desire of us!

Our initiation into art is as infinitely individual as we are astonishing in numbers.
