As Jesus entered Jerusalem in a most peaceful nature, signified by his riding on a donkey rather than a horse, the people praised him with the word Hosanna, signifying their adoration of Him, their praise of Him as the Son of God, and their embrace of Him by the setting down of their cloaks and palm branches from the nearby trees for his path while also waving palms, a recognized symbol of goodness and justice. As the custom at the time was also to wave palms to denote victory to kings, even more so were palms waved with immeasurable joy in welcoming and celebrating the King of Kings, The Much Loved and Awaited Messiah!
