Description
As lilies begin to feel the warmth of spring, the beautiful bulbs begin to open to the idea of rising up, of growing and, eventually, blooming into their whole selves, into who they were meant to be and what they were meant to impassion others with. Saint Anthony of Padua, often pictured holding a lily due to the stories associated with Him and lilies and to Pope Leo X!!!'s permission to bless lilies in honor of the saint, rose much like a lily to arrive to his self-discovery and inspiring purpose. It was after a meal at a gathering of Dominicans and Franciscans that the provincial requested that someone provide a proper sermon. With no one standing up to the request, Saint Anthony was volunteered to the task and after beginning a simple talk it became evident that a fire had been sparked in his heart and words with unmistakeable knowledge and spirit that lit up everyone in attendance like a bright candle whose light spreads far and wide and so blossomed Saint Anthony forever remembered for all of his preachings, so far-reaching, it is told, that once, when it seemed that his words were falling on deaf ears, he was found still generously speakiing them where they would serve, preaching at the side of the river to the fish and, thereby, gathering the attention of everyone after all! Saint Anthony, bring your warmth and your light to the world!
